The Road, directed by John Hillcoat
The long awaited, at least by me, first trailer for the film was released this week, and it looks like your typical Hollywood shine job on a story that doesn’t quite (or didn’t until they tweaked it after poor screening reviews called it “too bleak”) fit the current market projection. Seems a little funny given the times we live in. I mean, is an apocolypitic vision of any sort of disasterous future that far fetched? Maybe it’s just been a downer week here in the Ham, but hopefully the final cut of The Road will lean more toward the sensibilities of the brilliant McCarthy novel rather than the impression being promoted.
